I love it when you, the customer, comes up with really cool ideas for a scrapbook. Check out this all Halloween book, where this Mom can keep all the fun costume pics together in one album. LOVE IT! She requested for the pages to start off kid-like and get progressively scarier as her son aged. We also added some journal pages to record all the fun from each year. It turned out so incredibly cute just makes me want to SQUEAL! :)

Special Order Coming Right Up!
I wanted to share this custom order request from a mom in PA. She does a scrapbook each year for her son from the beginning of the school year to the end of the school year, with all the holidays in between. Love it! Can't you imagine how cool it will be to look back and see how he has changed year to year?
Anyway, she wanted more than one picture per page, which really helped open my eyes to doing pages outside of the one 4x6 picture like I do now. So it was a great learning time for me, too. Please excuse these HORRIBLE pictures, they were taken with my phone and uploaded for quick approval. The joys of not having high speed internet out in the country where I live. :)
I just thought it turned out cute and I can see a little boy's smiling face showing up all year long in these pages. :) Those without mats she can fit two or more photos on if she trims them down. The layouts with mats can hold a 4x6 and a 2x3. What are you thoughts?

Mother's Day Book
I've been busy lately, which is why I haven't been blogging *obviously a good thing* when I tell you I've been busy WITH ORDERS! Woop woop!
Pressed Clovers cracks me up sometimes because I won't hear anything for ages then get several orders in a row. This is exactly what happened in the past few weeks. Today, I want to share with you a Mother's Day album, which I think is particularly sweet and special.
This mother has had her photo taken every year on Mother's Day since her first child was born. I can only imagine how she's changed, grown, matured, and become a grandmother at this point. So she asked for a special book to put each year's Mother's Day photo in. Can you imagine, 50 years down the road when her little grandchild is 54, looking back over the pictures of her cherished grandmother? I love this, think it's so special.
I just thought it was so incredibly sweet and heart-touching. I hope she loves it. :) I'll post photos of the others soon - if I didn't already delete them (WHAT?!) I know, sometimes I'm too efficient in cleaning out my phone of pictures. (Here are more pictures - it was a 32 page book, so this doesn't cover them all, but some. Enjoy!)
Anyway - hope ya'll are having a LOVELY week, and thanks for visiting the Pressed Clovers blog! Check out the Etsy store to see new layouts I now offer on an individual basis. :)

Giveaway at Facebook!
It's a giveaway at my Facebook page!! :) www.facebook.com/pressedclovers! I've tried my hand at paper bag scrapbooking and please understand - It's NOT perfect!! - but it is cute! I thought, what am I going to do with these as I learn? OH... I'll just give them to you.
It is small, about 4.5" x 4.5" and has two pocket pull outs. One half page, just to add something a bit different. Buttons, ribbons, bling and stickers.
All you have to do is go to Pressed Clovers' Facebook page (www.facebook.com/pressedclovers) and comment on the post that mentions this giveaway. You don't have to follow anything or like anything (unless that's required by Facebook?? I'm not sure, now that I think about it, but I'm not requiring it!) Just comment. And I'll track you down next Monday if you are the winner!

Pinned It, Did It: Strawberry Torte
I found this when playing with my All Recipes Dinner Spinner (love this app!) and it just looked so easy and yummy! One of those great for summer recipes because it doesn't require firing up the oven and it's a chilled dessert. So when we were going to my brother and sis-in-laws for dinner, I thought this would be a great dessert!
I confess: I searched high and low for lady fingers in my local grocery store with no luck. So that left me to substituting something else. Well duh, if I would have thought about it a bit more, I wouldn't have used round cookies instead of long skinny ones, but oh well. It didn't cause any problems. My substitution were butter cookies by Keebler.
I'm bad to read reviews and make the changes without trying the recipe without the changes first. This time, I did add some almond extract to the filling and it was tasty, but I kinda wish I hadn't. I also added the strawberry puree in the middle, and that was a good thing. Again, the cookies were so thick in the middle. But it was tasty and I would definitely make it again! You should try it - it is SO EASY. Even the people who don't like whipped cream liked it! :)

The cookies were a bit thick for this, I think, especially as a crust on the bottom. But the filling is very firm and as you can't see, didn't spill out of the sides. The red is from the strawberry topping and I also put strawberry in the middle. You can kinda see it below.
